Dane Anderson

Dane is a Mixed-methods User Researcher and Innovation Strategist. He helps multidisciplinary teams scope and execute research initiatives across industries. A naturally empathetic and inquisitive researcher, his approach remains based in Neuroscience, Psychology, and Anthropology, and has been refined through industry work in Design, Human Factors, and UX Research.

Mixed-Methods Research & Strategy 
While he began as a specialist in Quantitative data, he has since become extremely adept in Qualitative fieldwork including ethnography, in-depth interviews, digital diaries etc. Experience doing innovation strategy work expanded his tool kit further to include exploring and validating new directions with companies through brainstorming and ideation sprints, prototype testing efforts, and market modeling. Over time he has taking these skills to the Human Factors and Medical device world. Overall Dane helps ensure the needs of users remain at the forefront of efforts to shape products and services, a focus which has led to innovations honored with awards from RedDot, IF Design, FastCo, and SEMA.

Academia
Dane holds a BA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology from the University of California San Diego and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from San Diego State University. His training included undertaking fMRI studies in several Neuroscience labs, publishing findings in multiple academic journals and invited talks at scientific conferences.
